Never touched snow? No worries! Our 1-day First Timer package has got you covered. Get everything you need to hit the slopes. Make your first skiing or snowboarding experience at Cardrona a memorable one!

New to the slopes? Let us make your first experience as smooth as possible! At Cardrona, our First Timer packages are designed specifically for kids and adults who have never been on skis or a snowboard before.

Our comprehensive package includes:

* Exclusive access to our Learner Conveyor tunnel for a gentle introduction to the snow
* A Beginners’ Area located close to our Base, featuring gentle runs and easy-to-use lifts
* A dedicated Kids’ Conveyor to help little ones build confidence and skills
* Lessons with our expert Snow Sports School instructors to teach you the basics

Our First Timer packages are the perfect way to get started, offering the best value for money. They include a Beginners’ Area lift pass, rental equipment, and a lesson package specifically designed for beginners. This is the ideal introduction to the world of skiing and snowboarding – and it’s just the start of your winter adventure!

This Package includes

  • 2 x Group Lessons

*Please allow plenty of time to be fitted with your ski or snowboard rental equipment before the lesson starts – aim to be at the Lesson Meeting Area 10mins before your lesson*

Duration
First Timer lessons run from 10.30am - 3.45pm, with a 45min lunch break at 1pm.
Check In
Check in closes 30 min before departure time for all activities.
Location: 50 Cardrona Valley Road Wānaka, New Zealand.
Transport
Multiple pick-up locations in the Queenstown area.

Physical
Good overall physical fitness / Good cardiovascular endurance / Ability to withstand cold weather conditions/ Valid passport for ID.

Pregnancy & Babies
Not suitable for pregnant women.
Children
Minimum age 6 YRS - a guardian or parent must accompany the child on the tour.

The common questions

Cameras are recommended, but carried at your own risk, must be mounted.
Dress for the weather -layering and choosing the right materials to keep you warm, dry, and comfortable, enclosed shoes are a must.
Bring a small backpack with you to hold your belongings, there are lockers at base building at a additional cost.
All trips operate dependent on weather, please check website if ski field is open.
Single day and date specific Multi-Day lift passes can be rescheduled up to 7 days prior to the date of booking, if capacity allows.
An additional charge may apply if the dates you are booking are at a higher rate.
Refunds are not assumed and are at the discretion of Cardrona Ski Resort. Medical certificates may be required to support your request.
