Discover Queenstown’s world-renowned wine country on the Bike the Wineries Full Day tour, a scenic and flexible cycling experience through historic Arrowtown and the stunning Gibbston Valley, also known as the Valley of the Vines. Your adventure begins with a 25-minute shuttle from Queenstown to Arrowtown, where you’ll be fitted with a quality mountain bike or E-bike, helmet, and winery trail map, and receive a full briefing with local tips. Start your ride with a coffee or short wander through Arrowtown’s charming streets, then follow the Arrow River downstream, crossing suspension bridges and taking in iconic sights like the Kawarau Suspension Bridge, birthplace of bungy jumping. Cycle 15–25 km through gentle undulations, rivers, vineyards, and alpine trails, stopping at cellar doors and enjoying lunch at your own pace before being collected from your final winery and returning to Queenstown. The ride is suitable for most fitness levels, with wide gravel trails, and E-bikes are recommended for added comfort. Seasonal departures run year-round, with summer times from 9:20 am check-in and winter from 9:50 am. Please note tastings and food are not included, and most wineries charge around $20 per person. Bring layers, sunscreen, water, and cash for tastings or lunch. Wine purchases can often be collected by the shuttle, and weather may affect ride conditions, with reschedules or refunds available if needed.

The restrictions
The riding distance to the first winery is 15 km (9 miles) and it’s 25 km (16 miles) to the end of the valley.
Individuals using wheelchairs may face challenges participating in this activity and is not recommended.
Pregnant women should take care while participating in this activity. Participation is at your own risk.
Infant - 0- 4 yrs / Child - 5 - 14yrs.
Children using E-Bikes must be over 140cm tall.
We regularly have families with young children out riding with us! For the kids we have 16″, 20″, or 24″ Mountain Bikes available. For infants we have either Trailers or Half-Bikes/Tag-Alongs. We recommend the combination of a Trailer being towed by an E-Bike: they’re stable and safe, and can fit one larger infant (<40kg) or two small infants (<20kg).
