For all abilities the Experience 4 is the perfect day out for those wanting to take a relaxed approach to the heli-ski day to really enjoy the experience of being out in the mountain environment. Explore a variety of amazing terrain for an unforgettable heli-ski experience.

Terrain – 4 runs

Runs vary between 1500-2500 ft of treeless skiing in sheltered basins, bowls and wide rolling mountain flanks. On the Experience 4 day, if the group is of higher ability, there is the opportunity to sample some of our more advanced terrain.

Ability Level – Intermediate

Ability: From intermediate skiers and boarders to experts  Pace: Relaxed

The Experience 4 day is for all ability levels. You’ll find descents to suit your group while not requiring the fitness levels to ski more runs.

Additional Runs can be added at a additional cost– When the snow conditions are this great, you’ll be wanting more. You can choose to upgrade your heli-ski day by adding extra runs to this trip. Extra runs require a minimum of three clients per group and are subject to conditions.

Adult Tickets: $1,545 pp

Start Time: 7:30am/8am (can vary)
Duration: full day (7am – 4pm), but can vary dependent on departure location and weather changes in the day

Restrictions:

  • Mountain weather can be harsh and unpredictable. Early in the morning, our Head Guide will evaluate the snow and weather information and decide if conditions are suitable for heli-skiing to operate. We will then phone you to confirm if weather conditions allow us to operate. If weather conditions preclude flying, you can reschedule to the next day. 
  • A full refund is guaranteed if your cancellation is received at least 24 hours before your trip. Failure to give 24 hours notice will result in full payment being taken. We require a 48 hours notice prior to departure for charter cancellations.
  • A full refund will be given if adverse weather conditions prevent flying

The Classic New Zealand heli-ski day.

Our most popular option for boarders and skiers alike from intermediate to expert ability. With more runs and a faster pace, this is undoubtedly a full day of untracked pleasure!

Terrain – 7 Runs

Runs vary between 1500-2500 ft of treeless skiing in sheltered basins, bowls and wide rolling mountain flanks. If avalanche conditions permit and the group is of higher ability, there is the opportunity to access steeper terrain, chutes and glaciers.

Ability Level – Intermediate or Advanced

Ability: Fit Intermediate to Expert  Pace: Busy

The Classic 7 day is for advanced skiers and boarders or for the intermediate rider with good fitness.

Additional Runs can be added at a additional cost – After seven runs on some of NZ’s best powder, you’ll be begging for more. Some of our Max Vert groups have skied 10-15 runs in a day!

SIGHTSEEING

McDougall’s Express Chondola is the perfect way to see the mountain on foot. We have 10 gondola cabins on the ‘combined’ lift of gondola cabins and chairs, to get you headed to the top of the mountain in comfort and style!  

The McDougall’s Express Chondola starts right beside our Base area, so you don’t have to trek for miles through the snow to get to the lift, and in under 4 mins you’ll be at the top of the mountain. Admire the views, take as many photos for the family album as you want or indulge yourself at the Vista Bar with a cheeky glass of Mumm champagne.

If you’re taking your very first steps onto the snow, strapping on a snowboard or clicking into skis for the first time, Cardrona’s amazing Snow Sports School lessons will get you sliding in no time! Master all the basics as you travel on Cardrona’s extensive network of green trails.

Once you’ve found your feet you can work on becoming more confident over all of the mountain – moving from a ski wedge to parallel, snowboarding steeper terrain… Cardrona can truly become your playground when you learn to ski & snowboard with them.

Wilderness Snowmobiling Adventure Queenstown

You’ll be cruising across pristine snow at an altitude of up to 6 000ft above sea level. There are stunning views and plenty of opportunities to stop and take photos. 

The snowmobile tour will move at a pace comfortable for everyone. Our snowmobiles are modern Polaris machines, they are easy to operate, and your guide is right there if you need any assistance. No previous experience is required.

In total your trip is around two and a half hours in duration. This includes a 15-minute scenic helicopter flight each way and approximately 1 1/2 hours snowmobiling.

At the end of your snow adventure you’ll depart by helicopter for a scenic flight back to Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters’ base. Our courtesy van will drop you back to your accommodation into central Queenstown.
